This featured Car is Carrera

Carrera dominated the German markets in the 1960s and 1970s, due to using an additional third wire, and effective marketing, also at the nearby Nuremberg International Toy Fair.

This featured Car is Carrera

In the 1970, Carrera offered 1:24, 1:32 and 1:60 scales for slot cars, and the slot-free "Servo" systems which allowed cars to switch lanes, guided by the guard rails on the outside. Due to the many systems offered, and fewer customers (Generation), Neuhierl had to sell his company in 1985, and took his own life. The new owners sold rather cheap products.

2012 Mercedes-Benz SL-Class

The new 2012 Mercedes-Benz SL has been formed almost entirely with aluminum and, as a result, weighs nearly 125kg less than the SL predecessor.

The aluminum bodyshell and lower weight means the car is a lot more agile and easier to handle than previous Mercedes-Benz SL cars. The aluminum shell isn't the only outstanding new feature of the 2012 SL, either!

Engine

The BlueDIRECT engines in the new SL are far more powerful and yet up to 29% more economical than other SL engines. The fact that the car is carrying a lot less weight also aids less fuel consumption and increases the dynamism of the car.

In comparison to other SL versions, the 2012 edition offers a lot more comfort to drivers, thanks to the lengthening the body and the slight increase in width of the car. While the car has slightly larger dimensions that what you'd normally expect, it means there's a lot more space for you to enjoy inside the car (both shoulder room and elbow room have increased).

New Features

Several new features have been incorporated into the new SL including the unique and highly efficient Magic Vision Control system and the Front bass system. The Magic Vision Control system allows your windscreen to be wiped clean without obscuring your vision since it doesn't splash water across the whole windscreen. Fully heated wipers are also available for the first time, so you can stop ice forming on your wiper blades during cold weather.

Land Rover Range Rover Evoque eD4 Prestige

Somewhere in an Austrian Alpine forest, a gravel track winds upwards. It's about one-in-five steep, and this afternoon a few inches of fresh snow have fallen. We're in an Evoque, and every so often there's a blink from the traction-control light, but our progress up the mountain remains steadfast. So far, so Range Rover.

But this is a bit different, because only the front wheels are connected to the engine. This is the new 2WD economy Evoque: simpler, lighter, more economical. But very nearly as good.

There are now three versions of this 2.2-litre diesel engine. The eD4 is the 2WD, with manual transmission only, and it makes 150bhp. The TD4 is also 150bhp, for 4WD, and gets a little more mid-range torque. Then there's the 190bhp SD4, which is the one we've driven in our previous Evoque diesel stories.

At low-to-medium speeds, the eD4 feels pretty well as sprightly as the 190 4WD auto. I'm confident of this judgement by the way, because I jumped straight out of one into the other. After all, the lower-powered car is usefully the lighter. By shedding drive to the rear, it does without a front take-off from the gearbox, a propshaft, a rear diff and rear halfshafts, plus one or two other bits. That takes the weight drop to 75kg. It's only above 60mph, for motorway hills and main-road overtaking, when power starts to be needed to overcome aero drag, that the SD4's extra kick shows up. Sadly the eD4 is a bit of a slug in those situations.

It's still a lot of automotive desirability for a small amount of company-car tax. With the efficiencies of a manual gearbox, idle-stop and lighter weight, the three-door Evoque eD4 gets in a 129g/km. Now just look at the design, and cast your eyes around the interior. Even in basic Pure spec (£27,955 for the five-door, another grand for the Coupe), it's hardly spartan.

OK, what else do you lose along with the drive to the back wheels? Well, the handling is still mighty impressive and controlled, and the ride still supple. But it denies you the option of MagneRide damping, which means it's both a little foggier in bends and a little less plush on straights compared with the 4WD with that option.

2012 Shelby GT 50th Anniversary Edition

Shelby America is celebrating 50 years of style by producing 100 cars of 3 famous Mustang variants: the GTS, the GT350 and the GT500 (the Super Snake). Fifty models of each car will be decked in white and feature gold stripes, the other fifty will be black and feature gold stripes.

Since only 300 are being manufactured, the 50th Anniversary editions have become an instant collector's item and each represent a piece of automotive history.

Exterior & Interior

In addition to the gold stripes on the exterior, several other nods to the 50th anniversary are present in the interior of the cars. The color gold naturally represents the 50th anniversary and is used in the premium black leather stitching on the seats plus there is an embroidered anniversary logo present on the seat backs.

Along with the gold stripes, gold stitching and commemorative anniversary badge, each Shelby anniversary car comes with special wheels, car cover, unique VIN number, a special delivery ceremony, exclusive merchandise and a number of upgrades including 6-piston front brakes.

The interior isn't the only thing to get a style revamp, the base GTS and GT350 models both feature matte black wheels (for the black vehicles) and chrome wheels (for the white vehicles).
The classic 'deep draw' hood, unique rear and front fascias and Shelby badge all make the anniversary editions a classic beauty to behold. The GT500 (a.k.a. Super Snake) gets another set of upgrades too: leather shifter, perforated seat insets and painted rear quarter window plates amongst others.

2012 PP Exclusive Mercedes-Benz SL R230

German tuner PP Exclusive decided to start a new project based on the Mercedes-Benz SL R230, and in 2012 it has come up with a majestic looking vehicle.

PP Exclusive has incorporated a number of new features and designs to give the vehicle a whole new look and feel.

Modifications

The Mercedes-Benz SL R230 has been fitted with an electronic module, which has lowered the suspension by around 100 mm, that gives the car a truly ruthless wedge-like form. The steering wheel is adjusted to lower the height. The wheel arches have been stretched with extra sheet metal embedded onto the existing arches to expand them by 25 mm in the front and 55 mm in the rear.

Exhaust

In order to achieve a loud, rich and nice sound from back end of the vehicle, the exhaust system is entirely built with stainless steel staring from the catalytic converter, to four oval shaped exhaust pipes.

Fitted with the stainless steel exhaust system, the Mercedes-Benz SL R230, is wrapped in 255/30 and 305/25 Dunlop tires. It sports 11 x 20 inch front wheels and gigantic 13 x 20 inch rear wheels have been used. But one can easily select the tire up to 23 inches in size.

2012 WheelsandMore Ferrari 599 GTO

The Ferrari 599 GTO is soon to be retired. But before a final send off, Wheelsandmore (the German tuning company) will get a chance to work its make-over magic on this exotic Italian sports car.

The result is a souped-up 2012 Wheelsandmore Ferrari 599 GTO, and Wheelsandmore has hit a home run with its efforts.

Mechanical Upgrades

Wearing a magnificent yellow and black powder paint job reminiscent of a giant bumble bee (the Transformer movie comes to mind), the new Ferrari 599 GTO showcases a set of 21" three-piece handcrafted 6Sporz ultralight forged wheels encased by S1Evo Hankook tires.

The ultralight forged alloys also show off the yellow and black theme with dimensions of 9J x 21-inch for the front axle and 12.5J x 21-inch for the rear axle.

Wheelsandmore also incorporated into the supercar's suspension an additional hydraulic lift-able suspension triggered by a remote button.

This action will lift the front axle up 1.18 inches to permit the Ferrari 599 GTO to clear any type of road obstructions or debris that could pose a danger to the car's leading edge or undercarriage.

Tuned Performance

To top off the 599 GTO tune-up transition, Wheelsandmore gives it an overall improvement in performance which is the core of this upgrade program. Adding newly remapped ECU and hand-crafted stainless steel exhaust with remote-capable valve flaps, Wheelsandmore was successful in squeezing out more power from the already powerful supercar's massive V12 engine.

1966 Jaguar E-Type Series 1 in New York City

Two exceptional cars, one illustrious lineage: the 2012 JAGUAR XJ LWB Supercharged range reflects the elegance, performance and spirit of the earlier E-Type Series of the 1960s that took the streets of New York City USA by storm. Unlike the E-Type Jaguar that defined an entire era reminiscent of Sinatra, McQueen and Bardot (all of whom were distinguished owners of the E-Type), the incipient XJ Jaguar models are smartly designed to adapt with the present times yet deliver power mixed with sophistication germane to all full-fledged Jaguar automobiles. While the iconic E-Type sports car blazed the trail with its 4.2 liter V8 engine (265 HP at 5,500 rpm) amped with triple SU carburetors (considered unprecedented during those times) that lets it sprint from 0-60 mph in 7 seconds, the new & promising Jaguar XJ flagship line, the 2012 Jaguar XJ LWB boasts of a 5,000cc Supercharged V8 engine allowing for 470bhp at 6,000-6,500 rpm (424 lb ft at 2,500-5,500 rpm) of maximum torque that lets the XJ reach a top speed of 155 mph and accelerate from 0-60 mph in only 4.9 s. Adaptive aero, break and handle dynamics make the XJ an innovative luxury vehicle equipped with an aluminum chassis and wishbones front and rear—an improvement over a steel chassis with only frontal wishbones that defined the E-type of the earlier Jaguar era.
The E-type, however, was still ahead of its time and endures today as a grand opus and considered a prized collector’s item—in fact, the E-type is even immortalized at the Museum of Modern Art. If the XJ proves to be a worthy descendant of the Jaguar line of monumental cars, it will carry on the distinguished tradition of the British automobile brand made prominent in the popular psyche with the likes of the E-type Series 1.

2012 Audi R8 LMS Ultra

The Audi R8 is synonymous to racing success. Previously used to name perhaps the greatest Le Mans prototype racer, the R8 was used to represent Audi’s supercar. The R8 name did not stay on the road though, as the R8 name made its way back to the track. Thanks to the R8 LMS GT3, Audi was able to dominate the touring car scene for the last 3 years, winning 12 different championships and winning a grand total of 115 races. However, Audi, not resting on its laurels, created its successor that aims to continue the tradition. This successor is the 2012 Audi R8 LMS Ultra. Thanks to the work of Audi’s subsidiary Quattro GmbH, the daunting task of improving an already strong sports car has been accomplished with great results. Using the inputs of those that owned the R8 LMS GT3, these inputs are then utilized to improve the Ultra. The result is a car that is made to keep winning and exceed even the loftiest expectations.

Performance

New carbon fiber reinforced plastic (CFRP) doors and new energy absorbing foams not only reduce the car’s overall car weight but also increase the car’s overall safety. A new PS1 safety seat further increases safety even more. An updated transmission is created to provide better toughness necessary for endurance races.
The 5.2 liter V10 produces a maximum output of 570 horsepower, designed to fit in with GT3 regulations standards and last for thousands of kilometers. And with improved aerodynamics and suspension settings, the 2012 Audi R8 LMS Ultra is poised to continue the Audi R8’s legendary reputation.

2012 Wheelsandmore Mercedes-Benz SLR McLaren 722 Epochal

Are you looking for a luxury car that comes with great speed, durability and exceptional running performance? If so, the 2012 Wheelsandmore Mercedes-Benz SLR McLaren 722 Epochal is the right car for you. Since 650 horsepower did not suit customers who are in to a fast and furious driving experience, intensive modifications have been done to the SLR. What's the SLR McLaren 722? "Maximum powered vehicle", that's the most apt description for the latest SLR McLaren 722. This rare edition is combined with all the up-to-date and finest upgrades which allows it to run like no other. It's all thanks to the whole Wheelsandmore team who's responsible for all the modifications which make the SLR even better than ever. The sports car originally came with a 650 horsepower and a torque of 820 Nm which was did not make many clients happy. However, the McLaren 722 is now pumped up to a higher level with a newly customized V8 engine that produces 727 hp and a torque of 701 lb-ft. How's that possible?
Well, it all comes down to the newly designed exhaust system that has sports catalysts, as well as flaps that can be engaged by remote control; which are all easily adapted greatly by the V8 engine's pulley and recently mapped ecu software. However, these modifications require a specialized suspension for the model. Due to that, the Wheelsandmore team decided to contact KW, their coil specialists in order to have a new suspension built which features a rebound adjustable contraption, and better
compression which is highly compatible with the McLaren Mercedes-Benz SLR 722.

The launch commemorates the 60th anniversary of the Chevrolet brand and after more than 40 years, a Corvette is being rolled out with the legendary 427 name.

2012 F&M Evantra

From Mazzanti Automobili in Italy comes the F&M Evantra, to be released in mid 2012. This limited supercar series will be produced at a rate of only five models per year.

The customization and production of each model for its client will be personally supervised by the car's builder, Luca Mazzanti.

Whats in a name…

The F&M Evantra derives its name from an ancient Etruscan goddess, and was formulated by Hungarian car designer Zsolt Tarnok. The Evantra is a mid-engine super car, meaning the engine is mounted nearer to the center of the vehicle. This engine layout more evenly distributes the engine weight on all four wheels, and makes the vehicle faster and easier to turn.

Exterior & Interior

The body style of the Evantra is a two seat coupe. The car buyer will decide how the body will be constructed from one of two different options. The first option is called PRO-BODY, and will use all composite materials for assembly.

The second option is called ONE-BODY, and will be an exclusively hand-crafted aluminum body which can be thoroughly personalized by the buyer. The engine and body will be combined on a light-weight steel chassis.
The outer lines of the Evantra have the popular symmetries of many mid-engine sports cars, and the profile curves are smooth and classically molded. Several stylish details, and a mixture of concave and convex surfaces, express a distinctly competitive nature bordering on hostility.

2012 Falcon F7

Falcon introduced its production version of the Falcon F7 at the 2012 North American International Auto Show, which follows after a great response to its Falcon F7 concept showcased at the 2011 Detroit auto show.

For those who don't know, Falcon F7 is produced by Falcon motor sports and it's based out of Michigan. The company is known for making body modification kits and structural components for manufacturers like Plymouth in their Prowler and Dodge’s Viper.
Exterior & Interior

The Falcon F7 design is inspired from the 1980's era of super cars, the dramatic design with flowing curves and sharp cuts to meet the demand of the wind tunnel. Many people confuse the car with a Ferrari or Lamborghini and it certainly is an attention getter.

This Falcon F7 is placed in the same segment as exotic GT cars, but it has carved its own niche with features that are seen in much more expensive handcrafted cars. These features include carbon fiber body, monocoque chassis made of carbon fiber/aluminum, handcrafted interiors, billet suspension and exceptional power-weight ratio.

The handcrafted interiors exude quality and one can't help but appreciate the attention to detail. The car is very roomy from inside, from supercar standards and can easily accommodate tall drivers.

2025 Bugatti Aerolithe Concept

The 2025 Bugatti Aerolithe Concept is the work of Douglas Hogg, a Coventry graduate. The design draws its inspiration from the original Bugatti Aerolithe concept showcased at the 1935 Paris Motorshow.

The old Bugatti Aerolithe concept was also the inspiration of the Atlantic 57SC.
The Future in Mind

Designed 75 years after the original Aerolithe was launched in Paris, Douglas Hogg has introduced the modern interpretation of the design. The car looks quite futuristic, despite being based on a design that was made quarter of a century back. Hogg suggests that he has used a minimalistic approach in pure surfacing for the design and applied a principle of Ettore Bugatti for Automotive design.

The car design represents simplicity, elegance, and intelligence. The design follows a smooth flow, uncluttered by door handles, external mirrors or spoilers. It's in complete harmony with advanced aerodynamics.

The underbody aerodynamics are an important feature of the design that allows two air channels to traverse the entire length of the body, funneling air from the front of the body to the diffuser at the rear, producing enough down force in the process to keep the car glued to the tarmac at high speeds.

2013 Bentley Continental GTC V8

Bentley introduces the topless version of its Continental GT V8 in the Continental GTC V8, to join its line-up of cars to be launched this year.

The Continental GTC sports the same powerful V8 engine like its hard-top sibling which has been tuned to be a lot more frugal the previous generation.
New Design

The Continental GTC is identical to its hard-top sibling, barring its light-weight convertible roof. Both the V8 models feature the ‘B’ emblem with red wings. Glossy black front grille differentiates the V8 models from the W-12 ones. The V8 GTC carries the same muscular elegance of the W-12 models with characteristic wide rear track, powerful haunches and aggressive low stance.

Performance

The Bentley Continental GTC comes with a 4.0 litre V8 engine which churns out 500hp and 487 pound-feet of torque. The car does 0-60mph run in less than 5 seconds. The performance is almost equivalent to the Continental GT W-12 model. Not only is the car powerful, the engineers have managed to bump up the efficiency of the engine by 40% as compared to the old W-12.

To achieve this level of efficiency, the engine is designed to switch-off values of 4 out of 8 cylinders when the driver is maintaining a steady cruising speed. The engine switches back to V8 mode from V4 when the throttle is pressed harder. An intelligent Engine management system (EMS) works behind the scene to manage incredibly high level of precision in control of combustion process.

2013 Rimac Concept One

A maximum output of over 1000 horsepower, an acceleration of 3 seconds or less, and a top speed of almost 200 miles an hour, have all been attained by an electric powered car. Yes, seriously. Breaking the mold of supercars and shattering the stereotype of an electric car as a boring and unreliable enterprise, the 2013 Rimac Concept One breaks out of the closet as perhaps the first true supercar that is purely powered by electricity.

Exterior & Interior

The super dynamic body, created by designer Adriano Mudri, is both super elegant and super aerodynamic. 2011 Chevrolet Mi-ray Roadster Concept

The 2011 Chevrolet Mi-ray Roadster Concept lives up to the definition of its Korean name. The car is undoubtedly ultramodern in terms of design and capabilities.

The car looks like it could be used in futuristic movies. With this car it’s all about the exterior qualities. The body is made of carbon fiber-reinforced plastic, and the side has an angled character line with lighting underneath. This feature creates a streak of light when the car is moving.
To keep up with this Chevrolet’s inclination to modernism, Le Mans racer-style scissor doors have been installed. The 20-inch front and 21-inch rear wheels are made of aluminum-carbon fiber.

The Chevrolet Mi-Ray takes inspiration from fighter jets and it sticks with this theme from the exterior to interior design. It is dressed in natural leather, liquid metal surfaces and brushed aluminum. The center touch screen controls other features such as GPS and retractable cameras.

The car is a hybrid. It was exactly meant for speed, but for fuel-efficiency. The Roadster comes with the innovative mid-electric propulsion system. The car itself is powered by two 15-kW electric motors that reduce emissions in urban settings. The engines absorb energy from 1.6-kWh lithium-ion battery that makes use of regenerative breaking energy to recharge.
