In the 1970, Carrera offered 1:24, 1:32 and 1:60 scales for slot cars, and the slot-free "Servo" systems which allowed cars to switch lanes, guided by the guard rails on the outside. Due to the many systems offered, and fewer customers (Generation), Neuhierl had to sell his company in 1985, and took his own life. The new owners sold rather cheap products.

Originality

For this centennial celebration, the company's CEO, Dr. Ulrich Bez, played a major role in the design and specifications for the Centenary edition. These models displays a unique blend of exterior paint, in which the pigmentation of the silver finish has a graduated hue that makes it truly original. Even though the process adds almost an entire extra day to the process of painting the automobile, it is considered time well-spent because the results are stunning.

Highlights

The silver theme is carried throughout each car, with sterling silver wing badges. The centenary edition is easily identifiable because of the interior design. The seats are covered with soft black leather that is rich in color and stitched with signature silver stitching.
A special added touch is the inclusion of a uniquely designed embroidery of the Aston Martin wings on the headrests, and plaques mounted on the sills which designate specific numbers.
