In the 1970, Carrera offered 1:24, 1:32 and 1:60 scales for slot cars, and the slot-free "Servo" systems which allowed cars to switch lanes, guided by the guard rails on the outside. Due to the many systems offered, and fewer customers (Generation), Neuhierl had to sell his company in 1985, and took his own life. The new owners sold rather cheap products.

Engine

The Rapide S is powered by an all-new AM11 (Gen 4) naturally aspirated 6 liter V12 engine. This all improved engine delivers 17% more power than its predecessor, making this the quickest Rapide ever at the starting gate. This brute of an engine produces 550 Horsepower and generates 457 lb-ft of torque. Not surprising that Rapide S clocks 0-62 mph in just 4.9 seconds.
Design

It receives a new face with a bold full-face aluminum front grille that adds lot of character to the car. The rear also gets a new treatment that improves the overall aerodynamics and aesthetics.
